台灣日治時期的精英──以生理學專長的日本人為中心

Elites in Taiwan during Japan-Colonized Period: Japanese with Physiology Specialty

研究各時代重要的人物除有助於了解當時的社會狀態、特徵及時代意義等外，亦可闡明各時代的歷史定位。本主描述活躍於台灣與日本連接最緊密之日治時期（1895～1945）各醫學專業領域的領導人物。以當時台北帝國大學醫學院各專科負責人為對象，尋求當時的資料、記錄以描繪出他們與台灣之間的關連，並與文獻研究成果相比對。本文具體描述生理學專長領導人物，並與文獻中曾被論及的耳鼻喉科、婦產科，及解剖學等三個專長領域的日本精英比較討論。結果了解學經歷、當時國際情勢、及專長等因素對這些領導人物的影響，也得如這些精英份子因應當時時代變遷的反應及表現。

Studying elites in each period assists not only understanding its social status, characteristics and era value, but also illustrating its historical position.This study described the active leaders in each medicine discipline ofmedical schools during Japan-colonized period (1895-1945). The linkbetween Taiwan and the directors of clinic departments at TaihokuImperial University were looked for. Comparisons with literature studywere herein made.In particular, this work profiled the leaders in physiology and compared the characteristics of these Japanese elites with those in otolaryngology,gynecology and analomy. The results demonstrate how the academic background and experience, intemational c ircumstance, and expertise on these elites, and how these elites responded to these mentioned environment
