Studying elites in each period assists not only understanding its social status, characteristics and era value, but also illustrating its historical position.This study described the active leaders in each medicine discipline ofmedical schools during Japan-colonized period (1895-1945). The linkbetween Taiwan and the directors of clinic departments at TaihokuImperial University were looked for. Comparisons with literature studywere herein made.In particular, this work profiled the leaders in physiology and compared the characteristics of these Japanese elites with those in otolaryngology,gynecology and analomy. The results demonstrate how the academic background and experience, intemational c ircumstance, and expertise on these elites, and how these elites responded to these mentioned environment |
