唐宋時代佛經譯場職司考

The Functionaries in Buddhist Sutra Translation Forums in the Tang and Song Dynasties

本文對唐宋佛經譯場的職司設置及其職能進行考證，以糾正當前中國翻譯史論籍中關於這方面論述的一些出入。經考證發現，整個唐代佛經譯場的職司設置及其職能與當前中國翻譯史論籍中的描述有頗多不同之處；宋代佛經譯場雖仿唐制，但其組織之精嚴並不遜於唐代，而其分工之合理性則甚於唐代。

This article examines the functionaries and their duties in Buddhist sutra translation forums in the Tang and Song dynasties, in an attempt to rectify some of the discrepancies in contemporary literature concerning this aspect of Chinese translation history. It finds that these functionaries' duties with regard to sutra translation forums during the Tang Dynasty differ substantially from those described in the Chinese translation literature, and that the sutra translation forums in the Song Dynasty, though largely modeled on those of the Tang Dynasty, were superior to the latter in terms of their appropriateness.
