金庸大師的武俠小說問世自今,已經成為華人圈中的共同記憶,而他也從未止步於小說這個載體,多方授權於電影、電視劇與電玩,將其中的瑰麗世界以多種形式呈現給閱聽眾。而電玩因自身的條件:主體客群為年輕男性、情節推動快速、追求愛情等等,與武俠小說有著諸多相通之處,是以金庸小說改編的電玩蓬勃發展至今。在眾多改編電玩的轉化過程中,《金庸群俠傳》選擇開放性世界的關卡設計,迴避十四部小說的時間前後問題,並以多位自創角色作為連貫整體劇情的推手,替玩家參與劇情合理化,同時加入探索與練功系統,帶來苦盡甘來的成就感,讓玩家更願意研究各式各樣的武功招式。原本就對金庸武俠小說有所認識的玩家,透過不同媒體的二次體驗,更能夠具體享受武俠世界的美好,至於因為原著字數豐厚而卻步的閱聽眾,也可以因為先體驗過電玩內容,對十四部小說有了初步概念,再去挑選自己感興趣的部分即可,省去花費大量時間閱讀後發現劇情發展不合自己胃口的窘境。透過改編的二次體驗與電玩特殊的互動性,《金庸群俠傳》與原著相輔相成,在台灣武俠電玩史上開創出前所未見的有趣世界,其改編方式值得分析研究,以作為後世作品的典範。
Jin Yong's Wuxia fictions have become the collective memory of the Greater China since the beginning of his legacy. However, he doesn't limit himself by the written goods. Through different medium such as movies, television series, and video games, much more people could experience the magnificent worlds built by Mr. Jin. Among those medium, video games thrive the most for their similarities with Wuxia. Having young male as the target audience, faster progressing through plots, and emphasizing romance all make video games stand out. 'Heroes of Jin Young' stands out from numerous video games adapted from Jin Yong's novels. By creating several new characters and breaking the chronological order of the original series, the game rationalizes the fact that players involved in the plots and pull players into the fantastic open-world. Exploration and workout systems provide the sense of achievement to players and encourage players to develop their unique combinations to overcome different obstacles. People who already read some of Jin Yong's novels can re-experience the Wuxia world through visual and acoustic presentations. Others who hold back from reading because of the enormous word count can get a taste of the magnificent universe and use the game as the reference to find the parts that attract them the most in the original fictions. With game makers' interpretations and the interactive nature of video games, 'Heroes of Jin Yong' and Jin Yong's fictions complement each other. They created a fascinating world in the history of Taiwanese Wuxia video game. The way the game adapted from fictions worths further analysis and research, and it is a great model for future game development.
