School assignments are a part of curriculum design, and play a crucial role in teaching activities. As a language teacher, the author realized that as the educational level increases, not only the numbers of assignments given to students seem to shrink, but the variety of school work also starts to become simplified. In fact, if teachers can think o( very different and extraordinary assignments based on courses, those assignments can enhance a student's education despite insufficient course hours. In addition, teachers will be able to evaluate their students' performance through the homework. It is hoped that students, by being actively involved in their assignments, will strengthen their learning experiences, which will not only consist of the teacher's lectures and students' recitation. Moreover, teachers can conduct classes in the library or offer students field trips, so that students will have greater access to learning resources, and the interaction between teachers and students will increase as well. In other words, more factors will be included in the assessment of students' performance. Students' assignments are usually surprisingly creative and it is extremely interesting to evaluate their works. Schoolwork includes class work and homework. This study puts its emphasis on homework design. As a teacher instructing the Records of the Grand Scribe, the author attempted to explore the application, results, and limitation of assignment design on teaching methodology. It is appropriate to place the course "the Records of the Grand Scribe" under general education. The researcher hopes that his personal experiences will serve as a reference for those teaching general education courses. |
