With the increasingly frequent exchanges across the Taiwan Strait, consumer disputes derivative from cross-border tourism, cross-border shopping, and E-commerce transaction become unavoidable problems and should be positively solved. In view of this, the article will attempt to break the regional and jurisdictional differences across the strait and to structure an objective, fair, and convenient, open, and efficient alternative dispute resolution mechanism for these consumer disputes by discussing from the angle of protecting consumers’ rights across the strait and in the direction of protecting the rights of typical private law entities. Besides, the article will begin discussing from the existing regulation of consumer dispute resolution in Taiwan, and learn experiences from Directive on consumer ADR and Regulation on consumer ODR adopted by Europe Union in 2013, in order to find a stable and efficient way to resolve these consumer disputes.
