In Taiwan, the educational reforms have been conducted for 20 years. Various circles of the society have required clearly that the quality of education should improve with the increase of the quantity. Educational reforms need not only sound policies but also the cooperation of the parents and schools, which is a key element to building success. However, how is the quality of national education? Is it an upward improvement or is it going downward? Does it have any assessment and evaluation mechanism? How do we evaluate the performance of running schools? This paper tried to further investigate the current situations of the performance of running national high schools and primary schools through educational practice experience at the basic level and the school affairs evaluation and on-the-spot visit over the past decades. This paper retrospected to the major policies and developments of the performance of running national high schools and primary schools over the past two decades as well as collected and referred to the relevant materials. This paper also analyzed the difficulties and challenges when carrying out those policies and tried to propose dealing tactics to improve the performance of running national high schools and primary schools and to promote the development of education. |
