By using school innovative culture as an intermediary variable, this study aimed to investigate the effects of principal’s positive leadership on teacher academic optimism. Questionnaire survey was used. The questionnaires were given to a random sample of educators (including principals, directors, group leaders, homeroom teachers and subject teachers) across Taiwan area. The study used structural equation modeling to verify the linear relationship among principal’s positive leadership, school innovative culture and teacher academic optimism. The results indicate that principal’s positive leadership has a significant positive correlation with school innovative culture and teacher academic optimism. Principal’s positive leadership also has a significant positive correlation with teacher academic optimism. Principal’s positive leadership has positive effects on school innovative culture and teacher academic optimism. Principals can implement positive leadership to help school innovative culture and to enhance teacher academic optimism. Besides, principal’s positive leadership will indirectly influence teacher academic optimism. The study suggested that principals implement positive leadership to enhance teacher academic optimism and to create teacher academic optimism via school innovative culture. |
