As the rapid progress in computer technology in recent years, many researchers have devoted to making use of CALL technology to provide non-native learners of Japanese with more effective learning activities. However, very few systems were developed to improve learners' translation skills.Therefore, in order to reduce the teaching burdens of instructors and enhance students' learning efficiency, a Sino-Japanese translation learning support system was developed based on educational technology. With the help of Japanese syntactic and morphological analysis technology, this system can parse any sentences into a two-dimension tree structure that makes it easier for learners to understand the conjunctive relation of units within a sentence.A survey using factor analysis and χ^(2) analysis was conducted to examine learners' attitudes toward the use of this system. As a result, learners are quite satisfied with the functions of the system in their translation practices. It is expected that learners' translation skill will be further improved when it is integrated into the regular classroom teaching. |
