In lieu of the big environmental challenge faced by the youth, the increasingly tough requirements are posed to the youth's ''competencies.'' This study examines the change of ''viewpoint of ability'' in Japan as well as analyzes competencies required by the youth. This study conducted a ''focus group interview'' by inviting the participation of students, the industry, and academia to discuss competencies that shall be acquired by the youth in Taiwan. Results of focus group interview indicate that along with the formalization of university education, the big gap between what has learned and what needs to be utilized, and moratorium, the youth has strong self-awareness and is inclined to look for achievements from jobs, but they are lack of work ethics and the abilities to take frustration, initiate logic thinking, and to solve problems. |
