明末武林書坊刊行叢書之板片重組與編改──以《唐人百家小說》為中心

Recombination and Re-editing of the Wooden Slips of the Books Published by the Wulin Bookstore in the Late Ming Dynasty: Focus on Tang Ren Bai Jia Xiao Shuo

以往認為《五朝小說》是利用宛委山堂《說郛》舊版進行重編，《唐人百家小說》為其中之一。近人從不同角度提出相似的看法，大抵上認為，重編《說郛》可能利用了《百川學海》、《廣漢魏叢書》等叢書舊版拼合，再行擴編增刻。入清後，這些叢書板片損壞漫漶，仍有許多重印增補之書。《唐人百家小說》自成一脈，陸續增減、重刊成為《五朝小說》、《唐人說薈》、《唐代叢書》等書。魯迅在〈破《唐人說薈》〉中提出該書有刪節原書、派分一書為多種、妄造書名、亂題撰人等問題，並指出其源頭可上溯明末《五朝小說》。這類叢書雖然標榜集合眾作、品目新穎，卻多是書商偽濫之書。比對相關版本，可見其書同名異實、編排不一、挖改刪節、板片替換的複雜情況。本文重新溯源相關叢書的影響沿革，並梳理其書版轉移、印行改造的手法，以見《唐人百家小說》版式格套與編改原則。

Wu Chao Xiao Shuo, which includes Tang Ren Bai Jia Xiao Shuo, was understood by the re-edition from Shuo fu printed by Wan Wei Shan Tang Bookstore previously. Modern scholars proposed similar theories, believe that this re-edition was probably a hybrid of the early versions of several books such as Bai Chuan Xue Hai and Guang Han Wei Cong Shu, followed by the expansion and supplement of its content. The wooden slips of these books were badly eroded in the Qing Dynasty, that was why it has many reprinted and supplemented versions. Tang Ren Bai Jia Xiao Shuo has formed its line and re-edited, reprinted and retitled as Tang Ren Shuo Hui, Tang Dai Cong Shu, and a part of Wu Chao Xiao Shuo. Lu Xun pointed out that Tang Ren Shuo Hui was an abridged, divided version of the original text. It was titled arbitrarily and rife with misattribution. He also traced its origin to Wu Chao Xiao Shuo published in the late Ming Dynasty. Although these series boast of a collection of works and novel items, most of them are fake books by booksellers without regard for quality. Compared with the relevant editions, we may notice apparent differences in their titles, contents, and order of wooden slips. Based on Lu’s idea, this essay not only re-chronicles the evolution and influence of the series of books but also collates the approaches to their copyright transfer and reprint, to reveal the formats and principles behind the re-edition of Tang Ren Bai Jia Xiao Shuo.
