The purpose of this study was to understand the influences of social capital on personal health. Data were collected using snowball sampling method via online survey, with 307 valid responses. Data were analyzed with hierarchical regression method using SPSS 18.0. Results indicated that (1) for respondents participating in sport clubs within science park, those aged 50 years old and above have a better perceived healthy lifestyle than those aged 30 years old and under| (2) for respondents participating in sport clubs either run by their own corporates or outside scientific park, those attending 5 days a week have a better perceived healthy lifestyle than those attending 1 day a week| (3) for respondents participating in sport clubs outside scientific park, males have a better perceived healthy lifestyle than females| (4) for respondents participating in sport clubs outside scientific park, those working in service industry have a better perceived healthy lifestyle than those working in technology industry| (5) social capital did not mediate the relationship between sport participation and perceived healthy lifestyle. Discussions and suggestions are provided to technology corporates in scientific park and governmental sectors for regular exercise promotion. |
