Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate different kinds of squat positions to lower limb kinematics (motion analyzing parameters). Methods: This study recruited 8 male participants (mean age 20 years old, height 175.21cm, body mass 71.55 kg). Two kinds of squat position (knees over toes, knees behind toes) and differences of joint angles in sagittal plane regarding hip, knee, ankle under three kinds of ankle external rotation angle (0°、15°、30°) were investigated by using 3D motion analyzing system. The two-way repeated measurement ANOVA was carried out for statistical comparison with a significant level of α=.05. Results: When the knees are over toes while doing squat, it produced greater angle displacements on knee joint in sagittal plane. However, different ankle external rotation angle did not affect joint angles of lower limb in sagittal plane. Conclusions: Doing squats with knees over toes produces larger angle displacements on hip joint, knee joint and ankle in sagittal plane. |
