Patients with heart failure have higher overall morbidity and mortality rates than the healthy population of the same age, particularly elderly people or those suffering from other cardiovascular diseases. Activity intolerance or limitation is one of the major problems in patients with heart failure. It may not only contribute to many disturbances in daily life, lower quality of life, but even increase the burden of caregivers. Thus, cardiac rehabilitation especially exercise-based rehabilitation has been the crucial strategy for heart failure in clinics and the most effective way to improve activity tolerance. Exercise-based rehabilitation can be applied to increase functional capacity, delay the progression of disease, reduce re-admission rate or mortality rate, and even increase patients?quality of life. Therefore, in this article we tried to integrate relevant evidence-based data and provide a reference for clinical practice. |
