The purposes of the study were to explore the relationship between teacher leadership and teachers' professional learning communities in junior high schools in Tainan City. This study adopted the questionnaire survey method. 540 junior high school teachers in Tainan City were randomly selected as stratified samples and 502 valid questionnaires were retrieved. The following conclusions were drawn from this study: (1) Junior high school teachers in Tainan City might have mean to high level of perception toward teacher leadership and teachers' professional learning communities; (2) Junior high school teachers in Tainan City showed partial significant difference in the perception of the teacher leadership, including different backgrounds of age, seniority, education and school size; (3) Junior high school teachers in Tainan City showed partial significant difference in the perception of the teachers' professional learning community, including different backgrounds of age, seniority and school size; (4) The variable “off-campus links and sharing” of junior high school teacher leadership could be used as the best prediction for teachers' professional learning community. According to the findings and conclusions given above, the study proposed recommendations for school teachers and administrators, educational authorities, and future researches. |
