The seeds of peach and chinese apricot (Prunus Mume) usually require stratification at low temperature for several months in order to germinate and produce normal seedlings. But the fleshly harvested seeds when their stones and seed coats are removed, the embryos will germinate in the agar nutrient medium under sterile conditions. Then transplanted into a complete nutrient solution, after they had become well established., set them in the pots with soil. These seedlings grow with short internodes and development abnormal leaves, to form some physiological dwarf seedlings. In this experiment the Gibberellic acid (200ppm) was used as a growth response of these physiological dwarf seedlings, Treatment commenced just after the seedling transplanted in the pots a11d was continued at weekly intervals of six weeks. The results are summarized as follows: (1) Gibberellic acid could regulated the growth of physiological dwarf seedling of peach and chinese apricot to normal growing. (2) Due to the anatomy of stem has been evidenced Gibberelic acid could inducing the cells elongation of stem, therefore, the internodes become longer and the growth recovered to normal. (3) Gibberellic acid could substitute the seeds cold stratification and get the normal seedlings·tor one year earlyer. |
