伽瑪射線誘發香蕉突變育種之研究－－若干突變體之出現

Induction of Mutations in Banana

選取仙人蕉及北蕉，切取其吸芽莖頂（Shoot apex）中央1.8xl.8xl.0cm為材斜，除去頂芽，分割為2～4小塊，每小塊裝入盛有培養基之小試管內，經⁶⁰Co照射而誘發幼苗。茲經過試管內生長時期，花盆內生長時期，陰棚下生長時期，與蕉園內生長等四期。由試管內培育幼苗迄蕉株開花結果，共計需時二年。目前已於蕉園內獲得若干突變個體，計有矮化豐產，假莖顏色變異，葉片中肋顏色變異，吸芽早發叢生現象，雙生苗現象，及葉形長寬比變異等。

Shoot apex isolates of banana cultivars 'Hsien-jen-chiao' and 'Pei-chiao' were subjected to Gamma-ray radiation to induce mutation. The isolates were cultured on semi-solid culture media in test tubes. A total of 377 were treated and 49 plantlets finished the first stage of experiment. In the Second stage, the plantlets were raised to young plants in small pots in laboratory. Transplanting of plants to shade and open field constituted the third and the fourth stages. The total time involved was two years. Mutations were observed throughout the four stages of experiment, some prominant mutants observed in the field were short statue and high yield, early growing of double suckers, pale green coloure variation. of pseudo-stem, red coloration of mid-rib of leaf, and variation of leaf-ratio.
