Landscape Planning of Tieh-chen Mountain

鐵砧山風景區係屬台華中縣大甲鎮（見圖1）頂店里，位於大甲鎮的東北方約三公里處，臺中縣鐵砧山風景區建設委員會所編著，「鐵砧山風光史蹟」之記載：「鐵砧山在五百年前名為「蓬山」，據說當時蓬山山頭煙霧彌漫，如有客從西海來，當朝陽初昇或夕陽西斜時，遠眺一片銀光濛濛，光影奪目，因此又名「銀碇山」；後來在公元1670年五月，鄭成功駐軍於此，征服番人，奠定了漢族開闢海島的基礎；且因此山的自然地形，而更名為『鐵砧山」。今應大甲鎮公所之委託，規劃本風景區，特提出此規劃報告。

Tieh-chen mountain is located in Tai-Chia Town of the Taichung county It has a total area of 80 hectares, and is famous for its beautiful scenery. The purpose of this project is to investigate the natural and economic conditions, population, transportation, places of interest and status of visitors in the area. The data thus obtained will be used as a basis for planning. The planning will be grouped into the following categories: 1. reconstruction of the entrance area; 2. designing of the scenic spots; 3. soil and water conservation; 4. transportation; 5. planting; 6. public utilities. The construction project will be carried out in several stages.
