Six characters in nine varieties of carrot were investigated for studying their stability parameters, heritability, phenotypic and genotypic correlations among various characters. Results were summarized as follow: (1) From the analysis of variance for six characters, it was found that the interactions between varieties and cultural environment were highly significant. (2) Using Finlay and Eberhart's stability analysis indicated that small type variety was snore stable than medium and large type varieties in six characters. (3) High heritabilities (99.3% and 59.6%) were obtained for leaf weight and root weight. (4) In general, genotypic correlation was found to be higher than phenotypic correlation in six characters. Leaf weight, leaf length, leaf number were correlated with root length, root size and root weight. Root length was correlated with root weight and root size. |
