The effects of the pF value, before and after irrigation, were studied on inflorescence emergence to find the efficient irrigation methods for commercial culture of orchids. The pF values ranging from 2.0 to O at the time of irrigation resulted in more leaves, greater leaf areas, and higher rates of inflorescence emergence. Top-irrigation resulted in better growth and higher rates of inflorescence emergence with a fewer number of rotted roots. Plants under sub-irrigation and grown in clay pots, with 2 g fertilizer (14-12-14), had the greatest leaf areas and the highest rates of inflorescence emergence. |
