This article's research target is Shanghai's industrial heritage and Creative Industries Agglomeration Districts. In the economy globalization process, Shanghai has carried out state enterprises' privatization and the industrial restructuring adjustments, and thus led to large numbers of idle space. Under the national economic policies, a large number of industrial heritages agglomeration districts have been developed for the Creative Industries Agglomeration Districts, but the lack of preservation and cultural policies, industrial heritages are treated as space commodities for sale, making the Creative Industries Agglomeration Districts to become real estate development products. Based on this phenomenon, it is necessary to have a new proposal for the industrial heritage in the context of globalization in order to shape Shanghai's future space and offer a different possibility. At the end, the author reflects on how globalization changed the relationship between state and society, and how the public space can be created to establish the dialogue between the two, which is where the significance for industrial heritage protection and Creative Industries Agglomeration Districts lies. |
