德富蘇峰的視角與台灣的記憶──以《臺灣遊記》為中心

The Perspective of Tokutomi Sohou and the memory of Taiwan －Using 《Taiwan Travel》 as the core－

跨越明治、大正、昭和三個時期的日本最具代表性的媒體人德富蘇峰於1929年前來台灣旅遊一個月，並完成《台灣遊記》一作。蘇峰在來台之前書寫了「大日本膨脹論」，「台湾占領意見書」、「台湾」等與台灣有關的文章。這些文章的主旨在於強調奪取台灣對維持當時的日本國內政治穩定有所幫助，同時得台灣對日本的南進政策也是不可或缺的手段。也因此，德富蘇峰在《台灣遊記》裡多是有關台灣殖產興業上的觀察與提議。同時大力主張應訊將台灣大學設立成研究南方文化為重點的研究中心。這些發言雖然顯示了德富蘇峰的帝國主義的思維，但同時也提供給今日的台灣諸多借鏡。與此同時，旅行當中或前往各地日本神社參拜，或批判台灣文化，這些舉動等可被視為是蘇峰的強烈的日本文化意識展現的結果。另外，《台灣遊記》當中提及前來台灣的諸多理由，換言之，對德富蘇而言，台灣不僅僅是底於日本南進政策中的重要位置中，透過對台灣的認識，也讓自己對自身的日本文化有更深的自覺，同時，台灣又具有人療傷的功能，如此地，包含了多元意涵的《台灣遊記》，有仔細探究之必要。

Tokutomi Sohou, the most representative media in Japan, which crossed Meiji, Taisho and Showa these three periods, traveled to Taiwan for a month in 1929 and completed ＂Taiwan Travel＂. Before coming to Taiwan, Sohou wrote articles on ＂Great Japan Blooming＂, ＂Taiwan occupation opinion ＂Taiwan' and other Taiwan-related articles. The main thrust of these articles is to emphasize that seizing Taiwan helps in maintaining the Japan's domestic political stability at that time, and at the same time seizing Taiwan is also an indispensable means towards Japan's southern expansion doctrine. As a result, in Sohou's “Taiwan Travel” it is mostly about the observations and proposals on the Taiwan's colonial industries. At the same time strongly advocated that the Taiwan University should be set up as a research center focusing on the study of the southern culture. These speeches again shows the imperialism thinkin of Tokutomu Sohou At the same time when travelling Tokutomi Sohou conducted speeches featured with Japanese history, or visited the Japanese Shinto Shrine, or criticized the Taiwan culture, these actions can be regarded as the result of Sohou's strong Japanese cultural consciousness. In addition the “Taiwan Travel” mentioned the reasons for comings to Taiwan In other words, for Tokutomi Sohou, Taiwan is not just an important position in the Japan's southern expansion doctrine, through the understanding of Taiwan it also let himself had a deeper Consciousness of his own Japanese culture, while Taiwan also has the feature of personal healing. In this way, the “Taiwan Travels” which contains multiple meanings, has a necessary need for further study.
