福爾摩沙衛星五號(以下稱為福衛五號)為我國第一顆自主發展的光學遙測衛星,其任務軌道為高度720公里,再訪週期2天的太陽同步軌道,可提供2米解析度的全色態(Panchromatic)影像和4米解析度的多光譜(Multispectral)影像。福衛五號也搭載一套由中央大學研製的科學酬載——「先進電離層探測儀(AdvancedIonospheric Probe)」,可量測電離層電漿密度、速度、溫度、與環境背景磁場等物理量。
FORMOSAT-5 is the first Remote Sensing Satellite whereby NSPOtakes full responsibility for the complete satellite systems engineeringdesign, including payload(s) . FORMOSAT-5 will be operated in a sunsynchronous orbit at 720km altitude and 98.28-degree inclination anglewith a two-day revisit cycle. An optical Remote Sensing Instrument(RSI), which provides 2-m resolution panchromatic(PAN, black & white) and 4-mresolution multi-spectral(MS, color) images, will be the primary payload. AnAdvanced Ionospheric Probe(AIP) will be the secondary payload, whichmeasures ionospheric plasma concentrations, velocities, temperatures, and ambient magnetic fields. FORMOSAT-5 is currently scheduled to belaunched by Falcon 9 in 2015. The development of the satellite bus withthe associated key components and the RSI progressed smoothly in 2012.The delivered components include the flight model of the Power Controland Distribution Unit(PCDU), the engineering model of the Command andData Management Unit(CDMU), Bus Structure, Reaction Wheel, MagneticTorquer, and Flight Harness. The design and procurement of componentsis completed. The integration of the bus will be started in 2013 for theassembly, integration, and testing stages of the FORMOSAT-5 satellite. Forthe RSI, the verification tests of the structure strength of the engineeringmodel, the Focal Plane Assembly(FPA), and the optical fine tuning for theprototype model of the telescope have been verified and confirmed. Forthe ground segment, the ground operation system has been upgraded, theend-to-end test equipment has been established, and the first stage of theimage processing system(IPS) has been built and verified. |
