Trends on the Health Services Accreditation Landscape

During April/May 2018 a survey of the Accreditation Council members of ISQua was undertaken regarding international accreditation trends. Of the 21 CEO's of national accreditation organisations who were surveyed, 15 responded. This article summarizes the results of this survey and outlines some implications for health services accreditation. There are a number of significant health system wide trends that are impacting on the quality agenda globally. These are listed below.(整個醫療體系正在發生顯著的變化，對全世界的醫療品質進程產生重要的影響，這些變化臚列 如下：) Reconfiguration of health system boundaries(重新界定醫療照護系統範疇) and structures is occurring across countries meaning that traditional definitions of health services and their delivery mechanisms is being broadened.Integration of health and social care within government and in the system structures recognizes the importance of the determinants of health. There is a shift from a focus on hospitals to a focus on the health system(重心由醫院轉向整個醫療照護體系) –from community and home care, to primary, secondary and tertiary care. There is also a focuson integrated care, not solely acute or institutional care. This shift to home & community care is positive yet places escalating pressure on the caregivers and family members and necessitates changes to ensure caregivers have the information and preparation necessary to effectively support the family member at home. Woven through this integration is the increasing focus on promotion & prevention(強調健康促進與疾病預防) , a critical aspect of health and healthcare.
