迷悟之間——《紅樓夢》中「玉」、「石」的佛學意涵

“Stone” and“Magic Jade”in Buddhism：The Dream of the Red Chamber

歷來有不少學者從佛學角度研究《紅樓夢》，卻鮮有以佛學思想探討書中的重要象徵：「頑石」與「通靈寶玉」。本文以佛性思想作基礎，以「一心開二門」的理論作結構，以書中的種種描寫作證據，論證「頑石」與「通靈寶玉」其實是代表「生滅心」（妄心）與「真如心」（真心），並解釋其間的關係及變化過程，希望能用新的角度去解讀這部「奇書」。 Lot of scholars to study “The Dream of the Red Chamber”(《紅樓夢》) from a Buddhist viewpoint, but most of them ignore the importance of “stone”(頑石) and“magic jade”(通靈寶玉) —two very important symbols in Buddhism. This article is based on the Theory of “One Mind and Two Gates”(一心開二門), and to prove “stone” and “magic jade” symbolize “delusory mind”(妄心) and“pure mind”(真心) . This paper also expounds the variation and the relation between two symbols. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to interpret this book with a new viewpoint.
