一般論及干將莫邪鑄劍故事，大抵以「復仇觀」為討論中心，本文則希冀藉由鑄劍事件中的以身投爐為出發點，透過《吳越春秋》所隱含的原始思維和冶煉的歷史成因，擴大探討相似情節的意涵。就「以身投爐」的行動而言，包含著春秋末期戰爭頻繁的冶煉文化，另一方面，則蘊藏了古代人祭儀式的區塊，它所代表的是對於神秘力量的敬畏，故需要仰賴犧牲與代價，獲得自我的所需。其次，這樣的「煉身」同時也代表著人在面對事件之際的抉擇，而這種抉擇背後又顯露出上位者對於生死的操控，在憂懼與宗君的莫可奈何之下，傳達了這種捨身的死亡觀。

Besides, this kind of ＂smelting body＂ also represents the people faced with a choice in the forging swords event. And this choice reveal fear, loyalty and concept of suicide deaths under the king's Manipulation of life and death.
