In The Passion of the Christ, Mel Gibson presents Christ’s Passion, the time when heis crucified after suffering the unjust trial and bitter torture of both Caiaphas and Pilate. Inthis film, Gibson does not just present the last twelve hours of Christ’s life but through aserious of flashbacks, he does very well convey to the audience Christ’s life, his teachings,and the meaning of his Passion. The purpose of this paper is to see how Gibson achievesthis purpose through adopting flashbacks. |
