Over the past, few scholars investigated the relationship between workplace friendship and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). The study adopted employee's perspective to explore their relationship and the moderating effect of political skill. We gathered 473 valid data via questionnaires. After hierarchical regression analysis, the results showed: (1) workplace friendship has a significant positive impact on OCB; (2) political skill plays as a partial moderating role in the above relationship. The management implications illustrates that workplace friendship should be kept as pure as water according to workplace ethics; besides, it is an art of management to show political skill timely to observe people and things in detail. Finally, some suggestions based on the findings are offered as reference for practitioners and further researchers. |
