Mammography and breast cancer screening

在國家衛生保健政策的指導下，婦癌基金會的推廣，並且獲得社會大眾的支持，子宮頸癌抹片篩檢的概念已深植人心，這也使得子宮頸癌的發生率逐年地下降，不但如此，子宮頸癌的死亡率，在近20年來也有顯著的減少。這功勞，雖不能完全歸功於子宮頸癌抹片篩檢的貢獻，但不可否認的是，子宮頸癌抹片篩檢在這其中，扮演最重要的角色。另外一個婦女癌症–乳癌，台灣婦女罹患乳癌的發生率，卻逐年地增加。這個問題，已經成為台灣社會，目前最重要的婦女健康課題之一。所以如何藉由子宮頸癌防治的模式，來為乳癌的防治盡一分力，實在刻不容緩。本文就簡單介紹，政策在乳癌防治的努力，以及目前的成果。

Pap smear screening for cervical cancer is well-known after being fully support by nation, foundations, and society. Pap smear not only decreases the occurrence of invasive cervical cancer, but also decreases cervical cancerrelated mortality. Breast cancer, by contrast, has increased significantly recently in Taiwan. It is a big health issue. Therefore, with a successful experience from prevention of cervical cancer, prevention of breast cancer is undergoing. In this article, we would like to discuss the recent results from the mammography in the prevention of breast cancer.
