The Comprehensive Research of Compiling Medical Books by the Government in Song Dynasty

宋代的官修醫書工作在中醫史上扮演著關鍵角色。許多醫學經典皆經由宋代官方之校正，而成為今日所見到之版本；本草、方劑、針灸學之部分重要著作，又為宋代官方編修之成果，其所達到的成就，不論在數量或品質上，都十分令人矚目。本文探討宋代官方編修醫書之工作，包括中央及地方官府之成果。研究結果顯示，有宋一代，總計共編修醫書30種，宋初以編修實用之本草、方書為主，校正醫書局時期則校勘了大量的醫經典籍，成果豐碩；南宋則多承接北宋之成果，相關成果銳減。北宋時主要由皇帝下詔主導編修工作，而南宋時私家之自主性校勘漸多。

The work of compiling medical book by the government in Song dynasty plays a critical role in Chinese medical history. A lot of medical classics which we read today have gone through the process of proofreading by the government in Song dynasty, and some important herb, formula, and acupuncture literatures are also compiled by them. The achievement of Song dynasty is really outstanding no matter in amount or quality. The research discusses the work of compiling medical books by the government in Song dynasty, central and local government are inclusive. The outcome of this research shows that the amount of all the results is thirty in total. Herd and formula books are the main results in the beginning of Song dynasty, and medical classics are largely corrected while Proofreading Medical Books Bureau exist. There is rich achievement in North Song dynasty. However, the achievement of South Song dynasty is or; in general, they just modify the results of North Song dynasty. In addition, the emperor directs the compiling work in North Song dynasty whereas more people actively proofread medical literature in South Song dynasty.
