Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is the first internationalfinancial organization which was built under China’s domination in the fieldof international finance. The establishment of AIIB is the new challenge tothe old international economic order which was constructed by the WorldBank, International Monetary Fund (IMF), and Asian Development Bank(ADB) under the domination of developed countries, such as US, Europeancountries and Japan, hence it is worth to analyze the causes of AIIB’sestablishment and its international political as well as economic implicationsafter its formal opening. The article analyzes topics as above by utilizingrealism, rational functionalism and cognitivism in the field of internationalrelations theory and through power, interests, and knowledge-basedapproaches to explain the causes which were contributed to China’ssuccessful promotion on the establishment of AIIB, and its internationalpolitical and economic implications after the formal opening of AIIB. |
