In 2007, 37 Japanese Encephalitis cases were confirmed (incidence rate = 0.16 / 105) which was more than in 2006 with 29 confirmed cases (incidence rate = 0.13 / 105) in 2005. The characteristics of confirmed Japanese Encephalitis cases were as follows: The sex ratio was 1.1 (1.1:1.0), with 19 male cases (51.4%) and 18 female cases (48.6%). Among them, incidence was highest for individuals of age 40-64 (n = 17), followed by those: aged 25-39 (n = 11), above or equal to 65 (n = 6), 15-24 (n = 2), and less than 1 (n = 1). |
