In 2007, 20 Meningococcal Meningitis cases were confirmed (incidence rate = 0.09 / 105) which was about a quarter less than 13 confirmed cases (incidence rate = 0.06 / 105) in 2006. The characteristics of confirmed Meningococcal Meningitis cases were as follows: The sex ratio was 2.3 (2.3:1.0), with 14 male cases (70.0%) and 6 female cases (30.0%). Among them, incidence was highest for individuals of aged less than 1 year (n = 6), followed by those: aged 25-39 (n = 4), above or equal to 65 (n = 3), 5-14 (n = 2), 15-24 (n = 2), 40-64 (n = 2), and 1-4 (n = 1). |
