In 2007, 41 Pertussis cases were confirmed (incidence rate = 0.18 / 105), a triple increase from the 14 confirmed cases (incidence rate = 0.06 / 105) in 2006. The characteristics of confirmed Pertussis cases were as follows: The sex ratio is 0.9 (0.9:1.0), with 20 male cases (48.8%) and 21 female cases (51.2%). Among these cases, incidence was highest for under one-year-old individuals (n = 18), followed by 1-4 year old individuals (n = 9), 25-39 year old individuals (n = 8), and 40-64 year old individuals (n = 3). Regarding those 18 under one-year-old individuals, incidence was highest for 2-month-baby (n = 7), followed by 1-month-baby (n = 4), 3-month-year-old (n = 4), 4-month-year-old (n = 1), 5-month-year-old (n = 1), and 8-month-year-old (n = 1). |
