In 2006, 1,437 Gonorrhea cases were confirmed (incidence rate = 6.30 / 105), which was less than the 1,515 confirmed cases in 2005 (incidence rate = 6.67 / 105). The characteristics of confirmed Syphilis cases are as follows: The sex ratio was 9.3 (9.3:1.0), with 1,297 male cases (90.3%) and 140 female cases (9.7%). Among them, cases aging 25-39 were highest (n = 771, 53.6%), followed by ages 15-24 (n = 366, 25.5%). Cases occurred year-round with a wide geographical distribution. The number of cases residency was highest in Taipei County (n = 403, 28.0%), followed by Taipei City (n = 264, 18.4%), Taoyuan County (n = 129, 9.0%), Taichung City (n = 69, 4.8%) and Tainan County (n = 66, 4.6%). Lien-Chiang County did not have any confirmed cases. |
