In 2006, 245 Acute Hepatitis B cases were confirmed (incidence rate = 1.07 / 105) which was about a quarter less than 321 confirmed cases (incidence rate =1.41 / 105) in 2005. The characteristics of confirmed Acute Hepatitis B cases are as follows: The sex ratio was 1.8 (1.8:1.0), with 158 male cases (64.5%) and 87 female cases (35.5%). Among them, incidence was highest for individuals of age 25-34 (n = 139, 56.7%), following those of age 40-64 (n =58, 23.7%), 15-24 (n = 29, 11.8%) and greater than 65 years old (n = 12, 4.9%), 5-14 and less than 1 year old (n = 3, 1.2%, respectively), 1-4 (n = 1, 0.4%). The age distributions were similar to Acute Hepatitis A. |
