In 2006, 29 Japanese Encephalitis cases were confirmed (incidence rate = 0.13 / 105) which was about 13% less than 35 confirmed cases (incidence rate = 0.15 / 105) in 2005. The characteristics of confirmed Japanese Encephalitis cases are as follows: The sex ratio was 1.4 (1.4:1.0), with 17 male cases (58.6%) and 12 female cases (41.4%). Among them, incidence was highest for individuals of age 40-64(n = 18, 62.1%), followed by individuals of age 25-39 (n = 7, 24.1 %), 5-14 and elder than 65 years old (n = 1, 3.4%). |
