There have been four epidemics of Measles since 1985. These four epidemics caused 2,219 cases in 1985, 1,386 cases in 1988, 1,060 cases in 1989 and 264 cases in 1992. In 2006, 4 Measles cases were confirmed (incidence rate = 0.02 / 105), a one third decrease from 2005 (7 confirmed cases, incidence rate = 0.03 / 105). The characteristics of the confirmed cases are as follows: The sex ratio was 1.0 (1.0:1.0); there were 2 male cases (50.0%) and 2 female cases (50.0%). Among all cases, incidence was highest among individuals of 10 months or more (n = 2, 50.0%), followed by those of age 25-29 (n =1, 25.0%) and 40-44 (n =1, 25.0%). |
