Bibliometric Study of Patient Safety Informatics

The patient safety issue become important these years. Especially, some of the major researches on medical error revealed that the present medical environment exsisting danger and negligence. The institute of Medicine reported 'To Err is Human' on 1999, which estimated that the mortality number of medical error is 44000 to 98000. The number I shigher than those who die from traffic accident. Rcently, medical adverse event in Taiwan causes maotality, unv eiled the problem of th epatient safety. In our research, the data was collected from the PubMed database. Those papaers related to patient safety and medical informatics were discussed.. We analyses the paper from 2000/1 to 2003/6, totally 959 papers are enrolled. The paper from 2000/1 to 2003/6 are about half of the total papers. The accumulate EBM paper number is ineasing.. We can sure that the patient safry and medical informatics become very important in the near future.
