This study addresses the public bicycle sharing system’s design problem. Theproposed model combines facility location and network flow theory, consideringboth user travel costs and system setup cost. The model is formulated as a mixinteger program and aims to determine the optimal number of bicycle stations, the location of bicycle stations, and bicycle lane configuration along a real streetnetwork. An illustrative example is created to test the proposed model. Thepreliminary test results show that the model is practically implementable. |
