This research analyzed the association among number of books at home, size of school library, time spend after school reading and students like reading, students motivated to read, students confident in reading, and reading achievement scores from PIRLS 2011 data. The outcomes support a positive relation among all variables. 4th grade students who spend more after school reading time and who borrowed more books from library had higher achievement scores and were more positive and confident about reading. We conclude that reading time and reading volume facilitate children's reading ability. |
