康有為是賣國賊嗎？──再論戊戌政變的原因

Was Kang Yu-wei a Traitor? －A Research of the Coup in 1898

筆者認為戊戌變法時期，日本前首相伊藤博文與英國傳教士李提摩太等人遊說康有為等變法派官員接受其「合邦」之提議。慈禧太后是在明瞭當時情勢險峻 之後，才當機立斷發動政變，挽救了此一危局。本文根據清代的宮廷檔案，得知 慈禧太后對變法時期的各類奏摺都能充分掌握，非常有可能看到了楊深秀奏請「中美英日合邦」的奏摺，導致戊戌政變的發生。不過，在英國與日本，相關檔 案卻付之闕如，難以確認英國與日本政府所扮演的角色。

During the special period of Hundred Days' Reform, in 1898, Ito Hirobumi and Timothy Richard lobbied Kang Yu-wei for the plot of 'state-uniting' （united-state）. Empress Dowager Cixi found the plot and arranged the coup to stop them. According to the files of Qing Government, we can understand that Cixi could get the information about the new-policies. So she could read the Young shen-show's report which was suggestion on uniting the China, USA, UK and Japan. For this reason, Cixi started the coup. However, we can hardly find the files about the plots in UK and Japan. We cannot completely understand what kind of the roles of UK and Japan they played in the plots.
