The purpose of this study was to study the oral hygiene practice and related factors of elementary schoolchildren. It also studied the relationship between the support of teachers and the oral hygiene practice of students. The samples in this study were the fifth and the sixth-grade students and teachers from 36 elementary in Keelung city and 18 elementary in Chlayi city. Total number of samples amounted to 213 and 1063 respectively. As the results show: Chlayi city's students had better participation in extension activity than Keelung city's students. In addition, their oral hygiene practice is also better, too. Regression analysis shows: The students who are girl, living in Chlayi city, being student cadres, taking part in cleaning teeth team and participating the extension activity more often will have better oral hygiene practice. Suggesting to keep practicing fluoride mouthrinse water program to elementary school students in the future, and establishing students oral examination regularly, and adjusting students' rest time at school. Practicing job training on school staff, and communicating with teachers, to avoid any resistance while promote the activities. Besides, to pay attention on how students take parts in those activities, in order to improve students' understanding in oral health and cultivate well hygienic habit. |
