As the wireless TV industry is now confronted with the trend of digital convergence, it needs to actively improve operation capability of programs/shows, focus on Prime-time program that most reflect TV advertising revenue, and think about how to produce prime-time program/show with a large pattern so as to strengthen its competiveness in marketing overseas. The purpose of this study is to understand wireless TV prime-time program/show competiveness in recent years by observing production and broadcasting status of Taiwan (main channel) prime-time program/show in 2012 and 2013. The observed items include self-production, appointment production and co-production status, weekly average rating of domestically made and foreign made prime TV program/show, and the copyright acquisition status of prime-time TV program/show. It is hoped that this study not only provides study observation results to wireless TV industry for reference in understanding the current overall production and broadcasting status of wireless channel prime-time program/show, but also reminds the competent authority that they shall make sure that prime-time program/show can safeguard national culture transfers and that they shall consider relevant regulation package and law amending should be balanced in order to avoid the situation that the broadcasting market structure of wireless TV—with the most potential watching population—is relatively restricted due to regulation restriction or insufficient package, which thereby affects the long-term development of the wireless TV Industry. |
