工業化國家的成人識字教育

Adult Literacy Education in Industrialized Countries

文盲已成為目前工業化國家的問題之一，各國紛紛採取不同的措施以掃除之。本文探討工業化國家成人識字教育，包括定義、文盲問題、文盲人口、基本主張等，並介紹英、美、法、西德等國的實施情形、最後歸結九點共同趨勢以為本文之結論：1.文盲問題已為工業化國家的重要問題之一；2.成人識字教育的對象與外來人口的移入、輟學人數的增加有關；3.功能性文盲為識字教育的重點；4.識字教育起源於民間組識的推動；5.依循動機模式發展；6.以識字為一種基本人權；7.識字教育的內容逐漸的擴大；8.採用小團體教學或自我導向的學習；9.實施師資的在職訓練。

Illiteracy has become one of important problems in industrialized countries. They have adopted methods to eradicate it. This article first discusses the definition of literacy, the problems of iliteracy, the number of the iliterate, and the basic advocacy of literacy in industrialized countries. Secondly, the article introduces the adult literacy provisions in these countries, including America, United Kingdom, France and West Germany, and then analyzes and examines similarities and differences to get common trends in these countries.
