This essay is an attempt to explore and describe some of the theoretical foundations of distance education. Also, it is recorded three parts. At the beginning, we indicate that the theories of distance education are related to the mainstream of educational thought and practice, and they are not merely a generic term. In second part, theories of distance education are classified into three groups: theories of autonomy and independence, theory of industralization and theories of interaction and communication. Finally, we focus on developing and elaborating a theoretical framework of distance learning based on the data grounded on the structure of knowledge and the characteristics of media and learners. |
