Information Science and Cognitive Science

二十世紀是圖書館、資訊科學界的重要時代，在這個資訊化時代裡，人類善用其智慧創新了世界，開拓了更高的科學技術領域，也因此更豐富了人類生活的層面。由於電腦與通信技術的緊密結合；由於新媒體的出現與利用，人類在資訊處理方面又邁進了一大步，也使得資訊科學的發展及重要性更被多方面地認定，接受。如今電腦與通信、智慧型電腦、認知科學、人工智慧、認意學、協調制動工學、數理分析理論、神經生理學、認知心理學……等科技整合之研究更是資訊處理、資訊科學、社會學、人類文明發展研究學者們所著重的課題。今後在資訊提供服務方面，在資訊系統、資訊網建立上，更不能忽略認知科學之研究。蓋人類的十二種認知模式與觀念應是資訊處理所該遵循的模式，也是資訊系統建立上所該重視的十二個主題。

20 century is very good year for the Library and Information Science, with considerable growth, particularly in the area of systems for information age. It has only been a quarter of a century since the computer was first put to use, and now, computers become very influential in various areas, such as private life, industry and Library--information centers. Today our society cannot function normally without the computer. The“C & C” concept, or the integration of computer and communications, cognitive science, cognitive psychology, artificial intelligence, linguistics, cybernetics, mathematical system theory, cognitive neuroscience and new media...., came about as these technologies and idea became more alike with the advent of information communications. Now, the Al allow users to utilize computers easily, they include data entry terminals to prepare computer input data, intelligent terminals having the ability to perform operations and make decisions, and process control through data processing. According to the recognitive science, they can be used for distributed processing and processing model through the combination of data processing and communications technology. Cognitive science is the domain of inquiry that seeks to understand intelligent systems and the nature of intelligence at the root of intelligence are symbols, with their denotative power and their susceptibility to manipulation. Or, more briefly, cognitive science is“the analysis of the human mind in term of information process.”There are twelve ideas both human intelligence, computer intelligence, libary and information science are to be studied.
