本研究之目的在瞭解光復初期台灣棒球運動的發展背景，並究明銀行公會棒球隊推展棒運之貢獻。本研究使用文獻分析法，蒐集此期間報紙、期刊、論文、雜誌及相關文獻，描繪光復初期六大銀行推廣棒運概況。本研究之發現有四，茲列於下：一、光復初期，台灣各界對棒球存在著濃厚的情感，期待振興棒運，帶動棒球運動的風潮，在熱心人士的提倡下，當時擁有較多資源的公營機構紛紛成立棒球隊，亦帶動各界及各級學校組隊的風潮，使光復初期的台灣棒球呈現蓬勃發展的盛況。二、台北市六大銀行中，合庫首先組織棒球隊，其他五銀行亦共同響應，透過銀行公會舉辦比賽，藉此吸引球迷、帶動棒球風氣。當時台灣經濟凋敝，球場設備及棒球用具簡陋困窘，但選手們並不因此士氣低落，甚至更具備高昂的鬥志，使棒球運動發展更具時代意義，這種奮戰精神正是光復初期台灣精神的展現。三、六銀行棒球隊除定期舉辦銀行公會比賽外，為提昇技術水準，除了積極的練習之外，並聘請專家指導；為增加球隊實力，並廣為吸納優秀人才加以培訓，加上積極對外參賽，使得球隊整體水準大為提昇，並成為國家代表隊的主力。四、1958年後棒球熱潮減退，銀行公會亦因經費短絀而廢止軟式棒球賽，接著台銀、彰銀、一銀等球隊，亦因無法組成硬式棒球隊而解散，致使興盛一時的銀行公會比賽劃下休止符，而後土銀、華銀亦相繼解散，留下合庫隊繼續為台灣的棒運努力。The objective of the study is to understand the early post-recovery period development of baseball in Taiwan and the contribution of the Bankers Association Baseball League in promoting the sport. The study employed the bibliography analysis method; hence newspaper, journal, thesis, magazine, and other related reports covering the particular period were compiled to describe the early-post recovery period development of the six-team professional baseball games of the Bankers Association. A. Early post-recovery period Taiwan harbored deep sentiments for baseball and the general eagerness for the development of the sport led to the baseball league craze in Taiwan. Under the promotion of sports aficionado, resource-rich state enterprises formed their baseball teams and their efforts also resulted to the baseball craze in schools and the private sector; hence the post-recovery period was the golden era of baseball in Taiwan. B. The Cooperative Bank was the first among six Taipei City banks to form a baseball team; the five other banks followed suit. The Bankers Association Baseball League games attracted baseball fans and stirred the general interest for the sport. The Taiwan had a weak economy during this period, hence baseball facilities and gears were simple and inadequate; still player morale ran high. In fact, their noble fighting spirit gave the baseball league development an epochal significance. The fighting spirit reflected the spirit of the Taiwanese people during the post-recovery period. C. In an effort to improve player skills, aside from the regular banker association league games, the six baseball teams avidly practiced and hired services of baseball experts to make the team stronger. They also widely accepted new talents for training and participated in other baseball games. These efforts bolstered skill standards of the team players; later, they became the principal players in the national baseball team. D. The baseball craze gradually subsided after 1958. Budget constraints caused the Bankers Association to abolish the kitty ball games; since Taiwan Bank, Changhwa Bank and First Bank were not able to organize baseball teams, they disbanded their teams. The Bankers Association baseball games that once knew glorious days came to an end, hence Land Bank and Huanan Bank also disbanded their teams; the Cooperative Bank team was the only team left to carry on the baseball tradition. |
