The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between empowerment, and its related factors. This was a cross-sectional and correlational study using a convenience sampling. Data were collected from two medical centers, two regional hospitals, and two local hospitals. The research subjects were nurses working in those hospitals. Totally, 446 nurses participated in the study. The findings showed that the total score of the Reciprocal Empowerment Scale of the subjects was 113.8 (SD=18.10), indicating that perception of the empowerment of the subjects was in a medium level. According to the findings, we suggest that the nurse administration chief should pay attention to the management of the nurses' empowerment, as well as to improve the perception of the nurses' empowerment. The administration chief should also build up the environment to promote the nurses to show their nursing professional potential it, and to develop the nursing characters and functions, and thus to improve nurses' job satisfaction. |
