Project of Improving Sterilization Procedures for Urological Endoscopic Instruments

本專案主旨在改善內視鏡消毒滅菌作業完整性偏低之情況，經現況調查發現問題主要是：自我防護訓練不足、戊二醛消毒盒定點不安全、消毒盒深度太淺、人員無時間觀念及未提供內視鏡作業須知，導致內視鏡消毒滅菌作業完整性僅80.3％。經本方案透過以下解決辦法：(1)安排在職教育訓練。(2)檢視環境設備汰舊換新消毒盒、增購計時器。(3)變更內視鏡消毒方式。(4)制訂內視鏡消毒作業須知。結果提高內視鏡消毒滅菌作業完整性達100％，確實達到病人手術過程之安全性，並加強防護用具使用觀念，保障醫護人員安全及健康。

The purpose of this project was to improve thorough sterilization procedure of the endoscopes instruments. According to our investigations, the factors contributed to incomplete sterilization included insufficient self-protection, unsafe localization of cidex sterilization box, insufficient depth of the sterilization box, inadequate sterilization duration, and lack of the sterilization manual. Our solutions included arrangement of on-the-job training, inspection of the equipment, replacement of the used sterilization box with new ones, with the use of timer, modification of the sterilization protocol of endoscopes instruments, and establishment of sterilization protocol for endoscopes instruments. After the project, the sterilization procedure achieved 100%. The project has successfully strengthened the concept of using protection measures and further ensured the safety of the personnel.
