The purpose of this study were to examine the relationship between organization commitment (OC) and job satisfaction (JS) of clinical nurses, and to analyze the predictive factors of OC and JS. This cross-sectional study used a convenience sample of 446 nurses from medical centers regional hospitals, and district hospitals. The questionnaire included the Demographic Inventory, the Organizational Commitment Scale, and the Job Satisfaction Scale. The findings showed that: the total score of the Organizational Commitment Scale of the subjects is 3.33 ± 0.49, indicating that the perception of organizational commitment of the subjects is at a high level; the total score of the Job Satisfaction Scale of the subjects is 3.16 ± 0.50, indicating that the perception of the satisfaction is also at a high level; and organizational commitment was positively associated with job satisfaction. Unit seniority was an effective predictor of organizational commitment, which explained 38.8% of the total variance in organizational commitment. Striving and value commitment was an effective predictor of job satisfaction, which explained 59% of the total variance in job satisfaction. The managers should inspire the nurses’ commitment and job satisfaction, thus to ensure the efficiency of organizational performance. |
